I've been extremely busy with college. Too much sewing. Too much sketching and making flats and Photoshop and shitty shit. Bear with me. Or else. So I'm back with some of my listening pleasures that I've fallen in love once again after a few years in obscurity somewhere in the corners of my bedroom. I used to listen to most of this into sleep almost every night, though it always makes me feel like getting high and twirl around with some fucked up lover. Red lights and everything. At 3 in the morning.
I don't remember where and when I got this, and so far I'm unable to get any info regarding when this was compiled, but it's got some great goth, deathrock and post punk bands from all of Europe during the 80's. Standouts in my opinion are Siekiera(Poland, their album "Nowa Aleksandria" is a personal fave and will be around here very soon!), Musta Paraati(Finland), Xmal Deutschland(Germany), longtime fave Spain's ParĂ¡lisis Permanente, Bjork's earlier band, K.U.K.L., and obviously, the almighty Nina Hagen. Tracklist is a s following:
Siekiera - Na Zewnatrz Clair Obscur - Till Morning Light Opera de Nuit - Boris Transylvania Camp Belfegore - Nach in Sodom KUKL - Dismembered Laether Nun - Gimme gimme gimme Leningrad Sanwich - Another Ghost Oberkampf - Hospital Asmodi Bizarr - Dreamvision Song Xmal Deutschland - Mondilitch Nina Hagen - Antiworld ParĂ¡lisis Permanente - Tengo Un Pasajero Gabinete Caligari - Maquis Marquee Moon - Edge of Time Musta Paraati - Ajatus Neva - Vision Stimmen der Stille - Todeslied Malaria - Your turn to Run Norma Loy - Dance of Darkness
Adorable were a British alternative rock band active in the 1990s. They formed in Coventry in 1991, and consisted of band members Piotr Fijalkowski (vocals, guitar), Robert Dillam (guitar), Steven Wil Williams (bass), and Kevin Gritton (drums). Highly underrated, indeed.
"Chase the Tear" is a collaboration by Bristol trip-hop legendary group Portishead for the celebration of the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was issued in 1948, and compromised the countries involved in both World Wars to protect and respect the rights and equality of every citizen.Even though Portishead has long walked away from their early gritty sound, Beth Gibbon's voice makes everything worth listening, and the track can be downloaded here.
