Hooky playing Joy Division...

Peter Hook -Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures(live at 1234 Festival, London, on July 24th)

Good sound, good quality, though Hooky fucks up a few songs, specially when singing.

Oh, yeah, I will be posting more often. Summer vacations are due in the next week. And there's a lotta music to love and share. :)

Waiting for a miracle, but nothing ever happens...

The Comsat Angels - Waiting for a Miracle

The Comsat Angels - Time Considered...pt. 1
The Comsat Angels - Time Considered...pt.2

TheComsat Angels - 7 Day Weekend

The Comsat Angels - Land

Awesome, innit? One of my favorite bands ever(ok ok so I have a gazillion fave bands, sue me or else!), which was hugely overseen and exceptionally amazing. The Comsat Angels formed in 1978 in Yorkshire, England, and formally disbanded in 1995. They were powerful, atmospheric, and bleak, owning such thunderous basslines and ethereal guitars. After opening for Pere Ubu and Gang of Four during the 80's, modest reception in the European mainland, and many attempts to evolve their music looking for commercial appeal, they faded into musical dust. Though that doesn't mean that albums like "Sleep No More", "Waiting for a Miracle", and "Fiction" are probably some of the finest post punk albums ever made. Since I couldn't manage to upload the three of them, here I offer a better deal: one little album called "Time Considered as a Helix of Semi-precious Stones", which can be considered as a live compilation of their earlier albums, for it was recorded as a BBC Session by John Peel in 1979.

Enjoy!!! :)

I was nor in Heaven or Las Vegas nor in a Kitchen of Distinction. I was Slowdive-ing with Catherine Wheel in a Twilight Sad listening to Soda Stereo.

I've been extremely busy with college. Too much sewing. Too much sketching and making flats and Photoshop and shitty shit. Bear with me. Or else. So I'm back with some of my listening pleasures that I've fallen in love once again after a few years in obscurity somewhere in the corners of my bedroom. I used to listen to most of this into sleep almost every night, though it always makes me feel like getting high and twirl around with some fucked up lover. Red lights and everything. At 3 in the morning.

Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas

Kitchens of Distinction - Love is Hell (one of my favorite albums. ever.)

Slowdive - Souvlaki

Catherine Wheel - Ferment (I can listen to "I Wanna Touch You" for days and never get tired.)

The Twilight Sad - Forget The Night Ahead (newest addition to such a catastrophic playlist.)

Soda Stereo - Signos (They have always been a synonym of "sex" in my opinion, nothing sounds dirtier than Soda Stereo.)

Enjoy! :)

Blood of the Old World

Blood of the Old World - V/A

I don't remember where and when I got this, and so far I'm unable to get any info regarding when this was compiled, but it's got some great goth, deathrock and post punk bands from all of Europe during the 80's. Standouts in my opinion are Siekiera(Poland, their album "Nowa Aleksandria" is a personal fave and will be around here very soon!), Musta Paraati(Finland), Xmal Deutschland(Germany), longtime fave Spain's ParĂ¡lisis Permanente, Bjork's earlier band, K.U.K.L., and obviously, the almighty Nina Hagen. Tracklist is a s following:

Siekiera - Na Zewnatrz
Clair Obscur - Till Morning Light
Opera de Nuit - Boris Transylvania Camp
Belfegore - Nach in Sodom
KUKL - Dismembered
Laether Nun - Gimme gimme gimme
Leningrad Sanwich - Another Ghost
Oberkampf - Hospital
Asmodi Bizarr - Dreamvision Song
Xmal Deutschland - Mondilitch
Nina Hagen - Antiworld
ParĂ¡lisis Permanente - Tengo Un Pasajero
Gabinete Caligari - Maquis
Marquee Moon - Edge of Time
Musta Paraati - Ajatus
Neva - Vision
Stimmen der Stille - Todeslied
Malaria - Your turn to Run
Norma Loy - Dance of Darkness

Enjoy!

Jad Wio

Jad Wio - Contact(1989)

Jad Wio -Cellar Dreams(1986)

13th Floor Elevators cover

Rolling Stones cover.

Here are the first two albums from French batcave/glam rock(at least during the 80's!) band Jad Wio. Formed in 1982, themes like sex, sadomasochism, Blade Runner are interwoven in their French and English lyrics. They remain active though I personally prefer their earlier stuff. "Cellar Dreams" got me hooked last week, hope it'll catch a few of you.

Enjoy! :)
